Wanderlust | Villa Tagalog; Panaon, Misamis Occidental

This blog post really took forever. This post took me days to finish, and it took me two months before I posted it here. I was really tired and exhausted these past few days that my thoughts and ideas are blur and disarray. I can’t concentrate on making the draft of this blog post (I make drafts first before posting) because I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo (yeah, that’s an exaggeration, but no, I’m serious.) tired I feel like I am not myself and I always daydream which I don’t usually do (I wonder what is happening to me). Pero, sa awa naman ng diyos, natapos ko rin. So, keep reading!

This is actually my second entry in this category Wanderlust. My last one which is the first entry is where we go to Tangub City to witness their Christmas symbol and straight to the Municipality of Aloran for their Buka Beach last year, that was December (if you hadn’t read that entry, click here).
I don’t get to travel as much as I wanted to because of my hectic schedule, but I will try my very best to go to some new places as I can for some reasons: first one, I love to go to places that I’ve never been to; second, I want to experience some new things, see some new places and friendly faces (puro bahay at office lang kasi ang routine ko araw-araw nakakasawa na!), and make some new memories and third, my blog need some love and care.

So, ayun na nga actually, we really don’t do planning for the every gala that we do, we just come up with the idea spontaneously that we need to loosen up a bit for the stresses and fatigues that we experienced on our everyday life. There is this one point in your life that you just need to relax and let go of all the worries and pains that you felt even just for a while.

So, those idea came up when we randomly hangout (all the things that are happening in my life are just random, I never planned it though.) sipping some cold drink, eating dinner and having a good conversation; Nieleth opened up the topic, after that, we discuss those necessary things that we need to settle and the place that we will go, everyone agrees with the plan, and then viola! We’re ready to go. We just need to wait for the date of our escapade to come.

April 14, 2018 (Saturday)

I met up with Bless and Nieleth at 4 in the afternoon to finalize some important things that we will do and bring to Villa Tagalog. After we talked, we bought some foods that we will bring to the resort and headed home after.

April 15, 2018 (Sunday)

To save up, we decided that we will just buy the foods first here in the city, I volunteered to buy the foods that we will bring to the resort. So early in the morning, I go to an Eatery to order some foods, but I forgot that it is Sunday and the Eatery is close every Sunday! HAHA! Stupid of me. And there are no Eateries or Restaurants that are open on that time of the day. So, what we do is we headed straight to the resort, and we just order our foods there. Quite a hassle don’t you think?

We arrived at Villa Tagalog at 9:30am we pay the gate entrance, and we’re good to start up some crazy and fun memories. That time of the day, I can tell that it really is summer; it’s 9 in the morning but the heat of the sun feels like its 12 noon. As in sooobrang init talaga. What we do, dahil sobrang init pa, we took photos as many as we could, savoring the moments, enjoying the lukewarm breeze of the salty sea air and the cool shade of the tree where we place our table. And also, this is our first escapade that Krissa is not with us. But the night before our gala, we have a video chat; and she said that “don’t feel that I am not with you guys…” so, in order to not feel that she’s not with us, we made her a standee with her face on it, it’s not that pretty though, unlike the usual standee that we see on some malls, but, shout out for the effort guys!

I think, maybe that was around 10 or maybe beyond 10 in the morning when the foods that we ordered arrive. So, what we did? We munch… HAHA! Yes, I’m serious. We ate our late breakfast while facing the sea, the ebb washing up the shore, the endless horizon and the waves, what a sight to behold! Like what we usually do when we eat together, laughter is really the dominant noise that you will hear. What can you expect? I have some crazy, bubbly and vivacious set of friends.

After we eat, laugh, and talk about those irrelevant things, we clean the area that we’re staying (the resort have a so-strict-waste management-policy, which is good so, we need to keep our area clean), we change our clothes and then decided to take a dip on the sea. The heat of the sun is soooooooooooooo ballistic I think that was around 12 noon, so we agreed to just try some water activities before we go for a swim; we tried riding their banca, and am tellin’ you niggah, ‘twas really fun! (Ito lang kasi ang nakita namin na hindi kami masyadong maiinitan.) To be honest, it is my first time to ride a banca, and I can really tell, that it is really fun, though it will make you feel dizzy because of some big waves; but other than that, it really is a good experience. When our banca reach on the deep part of the sea, I think that was 10 feet deep as what manong bankero said, we jump into the water, of course, with a life jacket on (just a little clue, almost all of us don’t know how to swim. Yes! You read it right. Among us, only Bless is a good swimmer, quiet embarrassing though, but it is true.). The salty sea water is very relaxing, it replenishes the hot feeling that we feel due to the scorching heat of the sun. We stayed there for 10 minutes I supposed (bitin pa nga ang 10 minutes) and then go back to the shore afterwards.

After that, we go back to our table to grab something to eat, still, the heat of the sun was so intense, so, we just stayed on our table for a couple of minutes, waiting for the sun to cool down I think that was 2 in the afternoon. After staying on our table for some couple of minutes, we agreed to take one last swim before we will get ourselves washed and go straight home. I think that was passed 3 in the afternoon when we decided to pack up our things and get ourselves ready to go home. Summarizing it all, it was really a good experience; when you’re with a bunch of crazy friends? Nah, am tellin’ you niggah, you will have the most amazing escapade experience. How can that be possible? All you have to do is to set aside all your worries, pains, negative thoughts and judgment and just focus on those things that will bound to happen for you to have a perfect and satisfying adventure. And also, don’t forget to bring with you your crazy, hyper, and vivacious friends who will bring the endless laughter and corny jokes to start up some seamless gala.

The Poverty of the Woman Who Turned Herself into Stone

“Into stone, This struggle Has turned me Into stone.” She has no hands. She is the folded hand. A fist, frozen. Permafrost Anger that cannot thaw into sorrow. She has no eyes She is the blinded eye. She is her own blinding dark. At noon, her socket carries the night. She is all ears. Voices weigh her down. She sinks into a swill of noises. Silence is not always her own choice. She wears a monochrome of gray. Clowns, orphans, soldiers at war – Their laughter has that stone – Texture of gray. The poem entitled “The Poverty of the Woman Who Turned Herself into Stone” is a classic Filipino poem that was written by Lina Sagaral-Reyes , a classic Filipino poet. The story that was describe by the poem is pretty harsh, and that makes the poem more interesting and mind boggling. The speaker of the poem, which is a woman, sees and describes the situation of the character presented in the poem. The poem is in the third person point o...

But The Western Stars

One Beautiful starry night Set me adrift on the bay tonight, Tonight when the gray winds blow Over the waves to the western stars My banca and I must go You would have built me an altar here Where lingers the wave born dew And I would have taken the silver dusk To gather young dreams for you But the western lagoons and the lonely stars -  They whisper across the sea And I must go to a misty shore  That calls through the dark to me. Then set me adrift on the bay tonight, Tonight when the sad winds blow And over the wave to the western stars Evening and I will go The poem entitled "But The Western Stars" is a classic Filipino poem that was written by Angela Manalang - Gloria, a Filipina poet in English Language. The story that was describe by the poem is pretty sad, but that was one of those factors that make the poem beautiful and nostalgic.  Traditionally, this poem is read as a meditation on death. In traditional...
